Our Class List

    Stack-n-Whack Quilt

    Betty Hall $25

    Saturday, September 25, 10:30-2:30

Stack-n-Whack is the latest craze in quilting across the country. The Stack-n-Whack method, developed by Bethany S. Reynolds, is simple and easy to follow. It does not involve fussy cutting, or the use of mirrors and templates, and eliminates fabric waste. The method simply involves layering and cutting fabric in the identical place upon the repeat of a fabric with a rotary cutter.

Stack-n-Whack is geared for every level of quilter.

    Folded Log Cabin Quilt

    Sarah Kaufman $35

    Saturday, November 20, 10:30-2:30

Sarah Kaufman, who resides on Shaw Island, has been winning blue ribbons at quilt shows all over the Pacific Northwest since 1996 for her log cabin quilt variations, all pieced with folded strips.

Log cabin blocks made with folded strips are made from 7-inch (foundation) blocks, and are constructed in either traditional log cabin style or courthouse steps. Instead of the usual flat strips, these folded or pleated "logs" create depth and wonderful dimension. Sarah has perfected this log cabin technique as well as exciting variations, and we think you will be impressed and excited with the finished product!
